1Use a tension of 20 sts and 26 rows (about 4 inch or 10 cm) to knit a cowl that measures approximately 26 inch around x 8 inch wide (66 cm x 20-1/2 cm). If you cannot obtain the required tension, switch to a different knitting needle.
2Cast on 126 sts. Join in rnd, placing marker on first st. 1st rnd: Knit. 2nd rnd: Purl. Rep last 2 rnds 4 times more.
3Work in pat as follows: 1st rnd: *(yo. ssk) twice. K2. Rep from * around. 2nd rnd: Knit. 3rd rnd: *K1. (yo. ssk) twice. K1. Rep from * around. 4th rnd: Knit. 5th rnd: *K2. (yo. ssk) twice. Rep from * around. 6th rnd: Knit. At end of rnd, K1, then move marker 1 st to the left. 7th rnd: As 5th rnd. Rep last 2 rnds for Spiral Pat until work from beg measures 7-1/2 inch (19 cm), ending on a knit rnd. Next rnd: Purl. Next rnd: Knit. Rep last 2 rnds 4 times more. Cast off loosely.
