Look as pretty as a beautiful day with the Premier Starbella Butterfly Scarf. This project is easy and quick to make, too!
- Time:1 hour
1Exact gauge is not necessary for this project. Work evenly and consistently throughout. The finished scarf measures approximately 6 inch x 45 inch. Download the template for abbreviations and stitches not explained elsewhere. Special stitch: LC: Left cross, slip 2 sts onto cable ndl, hold to back, knit 2, knit 2 from cable ndl. Notes: When picking up sts for the ruffles, pick up in the middle of each stitch, grabbing just a few strands of the yarn, rather than the whole stitch. When you knit the cabled part of the Scarf, the scarf will twist along its length. As you pick up sts for the side ruffles, straighten out the scarf so the cables lie flat.
2Scarf: With larger ndls, and using Starbella as a tape yarn, cast on 4 sts. Row 1: K Row 2: P Row 3: LC. Row 4: P Rep Rows 1-4, until Scarf meas 46 inch ending on Row 4. Bind off all sts.
3Ruffles: With smaller ndls, and working in top loops only of Starbella, pick up and k 1 st in every row along one side of the scarf. K 1 row. Bind off all sts. Rep for other side of scarf.
4Finishing: Weave in all ends. If desired, sew ends using ndl and thread.
