Dress It Up Monstrous Mummy Candy Bowl
How about this for centerpiece at your next Halloween party?
- Time:1/2 hour
1Project time does not include drying time for neither the cheesecloth nor the rose bowl.
2Warm the water (do not bring it to boiling). Put tea bags and warm water in your glass bowl. Stain the cheesecloth in the bowl to the desired shade of Ivory/Off-White before hanging it up to dry. See photo for reference.
3Dump water and teabags out of the bowl and allow the bowl to dry.
4While bowl and cheesecloth are drying, cut and layer felt for eyes and mouth and cut the shanks off of the Candy Corn, Halloween Fright Night and Happy Haunting buttons.
5When bowl and cheesecloth are dry, cut your cheesecloth into jagged 2 inch strips and turn the bowl upside down. Hot glue the end of a cheesecloth strip to the bottom of the bowl and slowly begin wrapping and gluing the cheesecloth around the bowl. (Tip: wrap the bowl irregularly for best effect.)
6Once you have wrapped the cheesecloth to your liking, hot glue the eyes and mouth on your mummy. Use the wire cutters to remove the shanks from the Candy Corn, Halloween Fright Night and Happy buttons and attach them to your liking.
7Use a small strip of cheesecloth to cover a portion of the top of the mummys eyes to make them look like they are under the cheesecloth.
