Duck Tape® Pumpkin Monsters
Create a fun Duck Tape® Pumpkin Monsters will fright and delight all those who come to your house this Halloween! This one monster shows how to create dimensional shapes, etc. with Duck Tape® , wire and other crafting tools so you can create a "monster" that's right for you!
- Time:1/2 hour
1Project is shown using the Fun-Kins Craft Carvable Pumpkin Twisted Stem 10 inch, but choose the size and stem you like best.
2For Horns: Bend wire into shape, using the templates provided as a guide. Create fabric of Duck Tape, and place on surface, sticky side up. Place wire piece on one end of the duck tape and fold over (making a wire sandwich). Trim around the wire armature. Measure length of matching Duck Tape and cut in half lengthwise. Place one half of one of the strips of Duck Tape along the bottom edge of the Horn and place onto pumpkin. Anchor the Horn in place by placing the other strip of Duck tape on the back of the horn on the back side of the bottom edge of the horn. See photo for reference.
3For Hair and Eyes: Cut lengths of Duck Tape in half lengthwise. Cut wire to length of tape and center on tape. Fold over both long sides of tape inward to cover over wire. Twirl Duck Tape covered wire over a dowel or pencil and stretch out as desired. For hair, cut a piece of Duck Tape to look like hair bangs; use this piece to attach curly hair around pumpkin stem. For eyes, different-sized circles were cut by hand (they don't have to be perfect in size!) and layered. Attach wiggle eyes with adhesive or Glue Dots.
4For Nose: a few craft buttons were stacked together. Wrap a strip of Duck Tape around the stack of buttons. Scrunch the nose end together and twist. Attach nose to pumpkin with glue or Glue Dots.
5For Hair: Cut a piece of Duck Tape to look like hair bangs; use this piece to attach curly hair around pumpkin stem.
6For Mouth: Use small pieces of matching Duck Tape to create smile lines and attach ends of mouth to pumpkin. Cut out tusks from Winking White Duck Tape and use those to also attach the middle portion of mouth down. Use your imagination!
