Haunted Half Pumpkin Halloween Dioramas 3 Ways

Half pumpkins open up twice the possibilities for your Halloween decor. Pick up a few at A.C. Moore and build some scary scenes that match your fall decorating style.

Project Instructions

    Owl Half Pumpkin:

    • Print and cut out the project template. Use it to paint the tree on the inside of the half pumpkin and let dry.

    • Hot glue two strands of leaf garland around the outside edge of the pumpkin and moss to the inside bottom. Glue the black canvas to the bottom of the pumpkin for a base and let dry.

    • Glue the owl on top of the moss. Cut the Halloween pick apart and glue around the owl. Add the bat stickers as desired.

    Cats Half Pumpkin:

    • Paint the inside of the half pumpkin deep midnight blue and let dry. Apply a second coat and then paint the outside of the pumpkin black. Apply a second coat if desired and let dry

    • Use a silver marker to decorate the inside of the pumpkin with stars, adding rhinestones where desired. Wrap light strand around the garland and lightly glue to the outside edge of the pumpkin. Tape the battery pack behind the pumpkin stem. Glue the black canvas to the bottom of the pumpkin for a base and let dry.

    • Cut the backs off of each bat button and cut the fence into a 4 1/4'' piece. Glue the cats to the fence, bend the bottom edge of the fence back, and glue to the pumpkin. Tie a bow with the ribbon and glue to the stem.

    Graveyard Half Pumpkin:

    • Using tacky glue, stick a spider web to the back of the inside of the half pumpkin. Cut a second spider web in half and glue one half on each side of the center spider web.

    • Hot glue garland around the outside edge of the pumpkin. Glue the cork inside the pumpkin, 1 3/4'' from the bottom edge, and glue the coffin on the cork.

    • Use a sponge brush to create a marbled effect on the grey foam with black, grey & white paint. Use the same paint mixture on the canvas. Cut out tombstones from the grey foam and decorate with marker.

    • Glue the canvas to the bottom of the pumpkin for a base and let dry. Glue the tombstones inside and finish with spiders throughout.
