Nicole™ Crafts Pilgrim Boy Clothespin

Create a boy that represents the Pilgrims who celebrated Thanksgiving nearly 400 years ago. When done making this project, consider making the Pilgrim Girl and Thanksgiving Turkey Clothespins for a well-rounded holiday scene.

Project Instructions

  • 1
    Paint bottom 11 inches of clothespin Milk Chocolate. Paint top of clothespin Flesh Tone. When dry, cover with Mod Podge.

    Cut a 12 inch x 6 inch piece of brown felt. Fold in half and cut rounded corners in center of one long edge. Glue around clothespin at the top of the brown section having the rounded edge at center bottom.

    Cut two 5 ½ inch x 5 inch pieces of brown felt. Glue together at long edge to form tubes. Glue one end of each tube to each side of clothespin at the top of brown felt jacket. Stuff with polyfil and turn up cuff.

    Using templates, Cut pieces from felt and foam, glue collar around neck.

    Cut a 14 inch x ½ inch piece of black foam. Glue around waist for belt. Glue one large belt buckle on top at center front. Glue on two buttons.

    Glue two pieces of gloves together around edges. Stuff with a small amount of polyfil. Repeat for other glove. Glue inside each sleeve.

    Cut two 5 ¼ inch x ½ inch pieces of white felt. Glue around cuffs of sleeves.

    Glue shoes to bottom of clothespin. Glue small buckles to shoes. Draw a line on clothespin with brown marker as shown.

    Apply tacky glue to sides and part of front of top of clothespin. Cut black pompoms and cover tacky glue for hair.

    Glue on eyes. Draw face with black marker. Use pouncer and blush to create cheeks.

    For hat, cut two 5-1/2 inch circles; remove adhesive backing and stick together sticky side to sticky side. Cut 3-1/2 inch circle and 3-1/4 inch x 12 inch rectangle. Slightly overlap 12 inch piece to create top of hat. Glue smaller circle on top and then both onto hat base. Glue finished hat to top of head. Cut an 11 ½ inch x ½ inch piece of brown felt. Glue around hat. Glue on other small buckle.
