Use a gauge of 12 sts and 16 rows (4 inch) in St st using a double strand of yarn to knit a pillow that measures approximately 21 inch high x 19 inch wide. Remember to check your gauge. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. If it takes you less stitches and rows to make a 4 inch square, try using smaller size needles; if it takes you more stitches and rows, try larger size needles. Download template for abbreviations not explained elsewhere. Special abbreviations: inc (increase) = knit in front and back of next st dec (decrease) = K2tog ssk (slip, slip, knit) = slip next 2 sts knitwise, one at a time, to right needle, insert tip of left needle into these 2 sts from the front and knit together Note: Pillow insert used is a soft standard size pillow. Due to differences in pillow stuffing and size, check cover for fit before finishing off.
