1Use a gauge of 11 sts and 12 rows (4 inch) in single crochet to crochet eggs that measure approximately 3-1/2 inch each. Remember to check your gauge. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. If it takes you less stitches and rows to make a 4 inch square, try using a smaller size hook; if it takes you more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook. Download template for abbreviations not explained elsewhere. Special stitches and abbreviations: sc2tog = [draw up a loop in next st] twice, yarn over and draw through all 3 loops on hook sc3tog = [draw up a loop in next st] 3 times, yarn over and draw through all 4 loops on hook Notes: Egg cover is worked in the round without joining. Place marker at beginning of round and move marker up to beginning of next round as work progresses. Depending on how many eggs you wish to make and the color eggs desired, you may need to buy more or less supplies than those listed for this project.
