Use a gauge of 14 sts (about 4 inch) and 17 rows (about 8 inch) in pattern to crochet a throw that measures 49 inch x 70 inch (40 inch x 60 inch). Be sure to check your gauge. If it takes you less stitches to match the gauge, try using a smaller size needle or hook; if it takes you more stitches, try a larger size needle or hook.
Pattern and supplies are written for large size with changes for smaller size in parentheses. When only one number is given, it applies to all sizes. To follow a pattern more easily, circle all numbers pertaining to your size before beginning. You will need 12 skeins of yarn to make this throw in the large size (49 inch x 70 inch) and 8 skeins of yarn to make this throw in the small size (40 inch x 60 inch).
Download template for abbreviations not explained elsewhere.
    Special abbreviations:
PC (popcorn) = 4 dc in next st or space, drop loop from hook, insert hook in first of these 4 dc and into dropped loop, draw dropped loop through st.
bobble = [Yo and draw up a loop] 3 times all in next st, yo and through all 7 loops on hook.
FC2FT over next 2 sts (Front cross 2 Fptr) = Skip next st, Fptr around next st; with hook in front of the Fptr just made, Fptr around the skipped st.
FC6FT over next 6 sts (Front cross 6 Fptr) = Skip next 3 sts, Fptr around each of next 3 sts; with hook in front of the 3 Fptr just made, Fptr around the first skipped st, Fptr around the 2nd skipped st, Fptr around the 3rd skipped st.
FC4FT over next 4 sts (Front Cross 4Fptr) = Skip next 2 sts, Fptr around each of the next 2 sts; with hook in front of the 2 Fptr just made, Fptr around the first skipped st, Fptr around the 2nd skipped st.
BC4FT (Back Cross 4Fptr) = Skip next 2 sts, Fptr around each of the next 2 sts; with hook behind the 2 Fptr just made, Fptr around the first skipped st, Fptr around the 2nd skipped st.
FC2BT2dc (Front Cross 2 Bptr and 2 dc) = Skip next 2 dc, Bptr around each of next 2 sts; with hook in front of the 2 Bptr just made, dc in first skipped dc, dc in 2nd skipped dc.
BC2dc2BT (Back Cross 2 dc and 2 Bptr) = Skip next 2 sts, dc in each of next 2 dc; with hook behind the 2 dc just made, Bptr around first skipped st, Bptr around 2nd skipped st.

Rnd 2: Ch 2; *working from left to right, yo and insert hook in next st to the right, yo and draw loop through, yo and through all 3 loops on hook—reverse hdc made; ch 1, skip next st to the right; repeat from * around, adjusting at corners as necessary (by not skipping any sts) to keep work flat; join with slip st in first reverse hdc. Fasten off. Weave in ends.
