Project Instructions
-
1Choose color of skull beads and stretch bands for the bracelet.
-
2Use needle and thread to get bands through the holes of the beads. See separate instructions on adding bands to decorative beads.
-
3The key to making a bracelet with beads is to evenly separate them each time with the same amount of loops.
-
4Create bracelet with fish tail pattern, working 2 pegs on a loom or a 2 nail jig. Twist the first band into figure 8 and then add two additional bands above the first (only twist the first band).
-
5Remove the bottom band from nails so it is resting on the other two bands. Add another band onto the nails on top of the two. Repeat.
-
6Add on band that has the skull bead on it. Remove the bottom band as you normally would with the fish tail pattern; that band will lie on either side of the bead.
-
7If you want to have a bracelet with a lot of skull beads, only place 2 bands between every bead. For less, add more bands in between the beads. Look at the samples for ideas of the look you want to achieve.
-
8End the bracelet with a bead. Pull bands off of one nail and stretch over the bead. Repeat with the bands on the other nail. This will lock the bead in place and create a toggle closure. Place band on other end of bracelet over the bead to finish.
