Stencil Ease Chevron Wall or Floor
Add an instant decorative flair to any wall when you create the Stencil Ease Chevron Wall or Floor! The pattern repeats in all directions allowing you to paint any size wall and you can even use it on floors and other surfaces if you like. Even though we chose a shade of Gray for this project, you can choose any paint color you would like!
- Time:1 hour
1Time of project will vary based on the size of the surface being painted. You may want to practice your stenciling and painting techniques on the pieces of cardboard before applying to your project. Download and print the project template to use as a reference.
2Mark a level line where you wish to begin stenciling (do the least conspicuous area first). If you are doing a whole wall, start at the top center of your wall. See Figure 1 of template.
3Lightly spray the back of the stencil with the repositionable spray adhesive. If it is too tacky, stick it to cardboard once or twice to remove excess tack.
4Line up two triangles with the level horizontal line. Do not use the edge of the stencil sheet as a guide. Press the stencil to the surface and mark a pencil or pin dot in the top of each of the four triangles. See Figure 2 of template.
5Using a small 2 inch or 4 inch dense foam roller, wet roller with paint, roll over a stack of paper towels to remove excess paint, then roll over opening in stencil. Tip: Use very little paint on roller. Roll almost all of the paint onto the paper towel before using the stencil!
6Move the stencil to the repeat position by lining up two triangles with the dots you made. Position stencil, mark opposite two triangles, and continue applying paint. See Figure 3 of template.
7Periodically wipe paint build-up off of the stencil using a clean damp sponge. If you are using an oil base paint, then be sure to clean the stencil with paint thinner or mineral spirits when youre finished stenciling. Do not let the paint dry completely on the stencil.
