Project Instructions

Pattern is written for size 2 years with changes for larger sizes (4 years, 6 years, 8 years) in parentheses. When only one number is given, it applies to all sizes. For ease in working, circle all numbers pertaining to your size. You will need 2 (2, 3, 3) skeins of yarn and 5 (6, 6, 7) buttons to finish this project.
Use a gauge of 24 sts and 32 rows (4 inch) in St st for a cardigan that measures 24 (26, 28, 30) inch across the chest and 12 (13, 14, 15) inch in length. Be sure to check your gauge. If it takes you less stitches to match the gauge, try using a smaller size needle; if it takes you more stitches, try a larger size needle. Download the template, if needed, for commonly used abbreviations in yarn projects.
