Thanksgiving Kids' Table Placemats

Add even more fun to the kids’ table this Thanksgiving by creating adorable placemats with just a few bright, seasonal shades of felt. Keep the theme (and fun) going by making the Gratitude Tree, Napkin Rings and Banner!

Project Details

  • Level:ages 5 + up
  • Time:about an hour + dry time

Project Instructions

  • 1
    Starting at ½’’" down from the top of the felt, use the regular-edge scissors to cut eight 11"’’ slits into the felt. You’'ll end up with another ½’’" at the bottom.
  • 2
    Cut 1"” wide strips from the other colors of felt.
  • 3
    Weave the strips through the slits in the first piece of felt and glue the ends.
  • 4
    After all the weaving and gluing is done, cut around the edges with the pinking shears.
