  • Time:1 hour + drying time

Project Instructions

  • 1
Prepare T-Shirt: Place five cups in various locations between layers of the t-shirt. (The part of the cup you normally drink from should be facing up.) Stretch the front of the shirt over each cup and secure with rubber bands on the outside of the shirt.
  • 2
Add Color: Pour a small amount of rubbing alcohol into the plastic dish. Temporarily set that dish aside. Expanding outwards from the center of each cup on the t-shirt, make good sized dots with various markers. (Do not put dots in the center of each cupped area.) When you are satisfied with how your dots look, grab the dish with the rubbing alcohol. Use the eyedropper to drip rubbing alcohol in the center of each cupped area. Continue to drip the until the color on the dots blends. Let these areas dry, then remove the rubber bands and cups. Repeat this step on other parts of the shirt where there is no design. (Overlapping patterns is OK too).

Maintain the Look: After wearing your t-shirt, have Mom wash it in cold water and hang it to dry so the colors don'’t fade.
