Throwback Crafts: Yarn Bottle with Pom Pom Flower

We got all wrapped up in the details of this charming repurposed #TBT bottle vase. With just yarn and glue, we made a cozy home for our warm and fuzzy pom-pom dandelion. Close your eyes, make a wish, and blow!

Project Instructions

  • 1
Decorate Bottle: Brush a small section at the bottom of the bottle with decoupage. Start with one color yarn and wrap around bottle over decoupage until you like how it looks (we went about a third of the way up). Cut the yarn and let the decoupage sit for about 15 minutes. Continue with another section and another color of yarn. Repeat until you reach the top of the bottle. (Remember to let each section sit for 15 minutes before continuing.)

Make and Add Flower: Follow the instructions on the kit to make a pom pom with the larger of the two pom pom makers in the kit. We wrapped each side with one row of Light Grey and two rows of Pink and Bright Yellow. Trim the ends of the pom pom so it is even. Set the glue gun to low, then hot glue the pom pom to the top of the stick.
