Wilton Back-to-School Chalkboard Sheet Cake
Introduce yourself to your children's new teachers this fall with an adorable cake!

1Project time does not include the time needed neither to bake nor cool cake.
2Prepare batter following recipe directions. Bake and cool cake completely. Level and place on a foil-wrapped board.
3Prepare buttercream icing following recipe directions. Use spatulas and icing to ice cake lightly. Use fondant roller with Orange guide rings to roll out Black fondant 1/8 inch thick. Cover cake with Black fondant. Reserve remaining White icing.
4Set aside 12 oz. of White fondant and 40 oz. of Black fondant. Tint 12 oz. of White fondant Brown. (Combine Brown with Ivory for Brown shown.) Use fondant roller with Blue guide rings to roll out 1/16 inch thick. Use shell tool from set to texturize fondant. Use fondant trimmer to cut side panels, two each 2 inch x 9 inch, and two each 2 inch x 13 inch. Use damp brush to attach to sides of cake. For top border, cut four strips, two each 3/4 inch x 9 inch and two each 3/4 inch x 13 inch. Cut a 45-degree angle at end of each strip. Use damp brush to attach to top of cake.
5Use tip 2, cut disposable decorating bag and reserved White icing to pipe message and people on chalkboard.
6Roll 1/4 oz. White fondant into two logs, each 1/4 inch x 3 inch. Use damp brush to attach chalk to cake.
