Wilton Buttercream Blossom Cupcake Bouquet

Use specialty decorating tips and different icing colors to create flower-themed cupcakes!

Project Instructions

    Project time does not include the time needed neither to bake nor cool cupcakes.

    Prepare batter following recipe directions. Bake and cool cupcakes.

    Tint portions of White decorator icing Burgundy, Pale Pink (combine Christmas Red with Black for Pale Pink), Medium Pink (combine Burgundy with Violet for Medium Pink) and Dark Pink (combine Burgundy with Christmas Red for Dark Pink).

    Make Ruffle Blossom Cupcakes by using tip 104, a cut disposable decorating bag and Burgundy icing to pipe three rows of ruffles from edge to center of cupcake. Then use tip 18, a cut disposable decorating bag and Dark Pink icing to pipe star flower center.

    Make Rosette Cupcakes by using tip 18, a cut disposable decorating bag and Dark Pink icing to pipe rosettes on cupcake top.

    Make Spiral Petal Cupcakes by using tip 104, a cut disposable decorating bag and Pale Pink icing to pipe a swirl to cover cupcake top.

    Make Four-Layer Blossom Cupcakes by using tip 104, a cut disposable decorating bag and Medium Pink icing to pipe three rows of petals on cupcake top, starting with outer row and working toward center. Then use tip 3 and Burgundy icing to pipe dot flower center.

    Make Two-Tone Drop Flower Cupcakes by preparing a disposable decorating bag with tip 2D. Then fill two other disposable decorating bags, separately, with no tip and Pale Pink and Medium Pink icing, but do not overfill bags. Use scissors to cut 3/4 inch from tip of bags and place inside the tip 2D bag. Gather and secure tops of all bags together. Pipe swirl drop flowers on cupcake top.

    Place craft foam ball in flower basket. Trim skewers to 3 inch. Insert skewers into ball, 2 inch deep, as cupcakes are placed. Use tip 18, a cut disposable decorating bag, and desired color icing to pipe a rosette on bottom of cupcake. Insert cupcake on skewer in ball. Cover Styrofoam ball with cupcakes. Make a bow from some of the the ribbon. Attach bow to flower basket with hot glue. Trim excess ribbon, if needed.
