Wilton Green Monster Cupcakes
A mysterious mix has caused these green monsters to rise from their muffin pan coffins. Luckily, weve discovered that a well-placed candy knife quickly transforms these frightening fiends into delicious Halloween treats.

1Make the cupcakes. Prepare batter following the recipe directions, bake in the baking cups, and then cool. Note: project time does not include this baking and cooling time.
2To ice the cupcakes, start by preparing the buttercream icing according to the recipe directions. Tint a small portion of the icing Black; tint the remainder Green (Combine Leaf Green with Lemon Yellow for Green shown. Use a spatula and Green icing to ice the top of the cupcakes smooth.
3For each cupcake, cut 18 pieces of shoestring licorice, each one 2" long. Insert the pieces into the top of the cupcakes. Use tip 3, cut disposable decorating bag, and Black icing to pipe eye line and to outline and fill in the mouth. Pat the mouth smooth with your finger, dipped in cornstarch. Use the Black icing to attach candy eyeballs onto the cupcakes. Lastly, insert the knife icing decorations into the cupcakes as shown.
Makes about 12 cupcakes. Each serves one.
