Project Instructions

    At least one day in advance of serving cookies, prepare and roll out dough following recipe directions. Use classic, scalloped and stylized heart cutters to cut shapes. Bake and cool all cookies.

    Color Flow Iced Cookies:
    At least a day in advance, prepare color flow icing following mix directions.
    Tint portions Rose, Red (combine Christmas Red with Red-Red to get the Red icing shown) and Green; reserve remaining White icing. Thin portions of all colors following mix directions. Use tip 3, a cut disposable decorating bag and full-strength White, Rose or Red icing to outline cookies. Use thinned White or Rose icing in cut disposable decorating bag to fill in cookies. Use thinned icings to immediately pipe designs following instructions below. Let cookies dry overnight.
    Flowers: Pipe a Rose circle with a Red dot in center. Use toothpick to drag through circle and dot to create petals and flower center.
    Hearts and Leaves: Pipe dots; use toothpick to drag through to create shapes.
    Chevrons: Pipe lines; use toothpick to drag through lines in alternating directions.

    Iced Sprinkle Topped Cookies:
    Before baking cookies, sprinkle scalloped cookies with Red sugar.
    Tint a portion of White decorator icing Rose. Use spatula and rose and white icing to ice cookies. Immediately sprinkle with sugar.

    Ready-To-Use Iced Cookies:
    Tint portions of white decorator icing Rose and Red; reserve remaining white icing. For bead heart design, use tip 10, a cut disposable decorating bag and Red icing to pipe two rows of beads from edge of cookie to center. Use tip 10, a cut disposable decorating bag and White icing to pipe bead heart in center of cookie. For striped design, use tip 3, cut disposable decorating bags and Red, Rose and White icing to pipe vertical lines on cookie. Use tip 3 andRed icing to pipe bead border. For plaid design, use tip 3, cut disposable decorating bag and icings to pipe overlapping lines, about 1?8 inch to 1?4 inch apart. Start with Red vertical lines, then add Pink horizontal, White and Pink vertical, then Red and White horizontal.
