Wilton Lively Lights Five-Layer Cake
Turn up the color for a summer dessert that wows the crowd! Start with the ombre-effect cake, with five shades of Pink baked in the Wilton Easy Layers! Cake Pan Set. Finish with swirls in Yellow and Pink piped in the same bag. Tint it all with the Color Right Performance Color System.

1Tint ultra-pale batter. Prepare cake batter following recipe or mix instructions. Use Color Right base color and Quick Count color formula to tint batter:
Pale Pastel Pink (formula 1895): 4-1/2 cups batter + 1 P
Divide tinted batter into five portions. Pour one portion into one pan from set.
2Tint darker shades of batter with remaining portions of batter.
For second lightest Pink: 1 portion Pale Pastel Pink batter + 1 P
For third lightest Pink: 1 portion Pale Pastel Pink batter + 2 P
For fourth lightest Pink: 1 portion Pale Pastel Pink batter + 3 P
For darkest Pink: 1 portion Pale Pastel Pink batter + 4 P
Place each shade of batter into a separate pan from set. Bake and cool cake according to pan instructions. Use grid to cool cake. Note: project time does not include this baking and cooling time.
3Assemble layers. Set aside 3-1/2 cups White icing. Use spatula and White icing to fill and stack cake layers from darkest to lightest Pink on cake pedestal.
4Decorate cake. Use Color Right base color and Quick Count color formula to tint icing in the following shades:
Pastel Pink (formula 1895): 2 cups icing + 1 P
Pastel Yellow (formula 100): 2 cups icing + 2 Y
Fill one 12 inch. disposable decorating bag with Pastel Pink icing and one with Pastel Yellow icing; cut 1 inch from tips of bags. Prepare a 16 inch disposable decorating bag with tip 1M; place 12 inch bags into the 16 inch bag. Pipe rosettes to cover cake. Never made a rosette before?
