- Time:2 hours
Project time does not include neither the time to bake nor cool the cupcakes. Project time does not include the time for fondant projects to dry. Note: to make gum paste, break about 1/4 teaspoon of Ready-To-Use Gum Paste into very small pieces. Dissolve pieces in about 1 tablespoon water. Let rest about 1 hour. Mixture will be ready to use even if some pieces have not dissolved.
Several days in advance, make fondant loop petals. Knead 24 ounch of White fondant with 2 teaspoons Gum-Tex on mat dusted with cornstarch. Divide fondant into 4 ounce portions and tint Orange, Rose, Violet, Royal Blue and two 4 ounce portions Lemon Yellow. Roll out each section of fondant 1/8 inch thick and cut 15 strips (2-1/2 inch long x 1/8 inch wide) for each cupcake.
To make flower loops, fold strips in half and brush open ends with decorating brush that has been dipped in water. Gently press ends closed and let dry. To make flower centers, roll 1/2 inch diameter balls of Lemon Yellow fondant; flatten slightly with fingers and let dry.
Bake and cool cupcakes in baking cups and cool completely on cooling grid.
Prepare buttercream icing recipe and ice tops of cupcakes smooth with spatula.
Position fondant loops on tops of cupcakes and attach centers with icing.
Use the fondant and gum paste mold and different color of tinted fondant to add a wide variety of fondant flowers to your cupcakes.
