Wilton Two-Tone Rose Cupcakes
The pink and yellow roses that blossom on these cupcakes are made using the easy Ribbon Rose technique. Pink roses symbolize gratitude and admiration, and yellow roses are the classic symbol of friendship. We suppose that makes these cupcakes the perfect dessert to share among good friends. Use the Wilton Color Right Performance Color System to get the same colors each and everytime you decorate desserts.
- Time:about 2 hours
1Make Cupcakes: Place a Tangerine geometric baking cup into each one of the muffin pan's cavities. Prepare 5 cups batter following recipe instructions, then pour it into baking cups. Follow recipe instructions to bake cupcakes, then cool the cupcakes on the grid. Note: Project time does not include this baking and cooling time.
2Prepare Icing: Reserve two cups of White icing. Use the Color Right Base Colors and Quick Count color formulas to tint icings in the following shades:
Yellow = 2 cups White icing + (formula 3935) 6 Y
Pink = 2 cups White icing + (formula 210) 3 P
Keep the colored icings separate. Stiffen them by mixing two to four tablespoons confectioners sugar into each color.
3Ice Cupcakes: Ice cupcakes smooth with the 2 cups reserved White icing.
4Make Ribbon Roses: On flower nail, pipe a tip 12 center cone, tip 104 wrap petal and first petal row in Pink or Yellow. Switch icing colors and pipe two outer petal rows in the contrasting color. Use flower lifter to position flowers on cupcake immediately after piping. Need to see it? Copy and paste this link into a new browser window: http://www.wilton.com/technique/Ribbon-Roses
